2/25/2009- When are you coming home??????

Michael has been gone Since Sunday and I feel like he has been gone a month. He went on a hiking trip to Big Bend. I think they added an extra day since last year. I guess he thinks he gets the golden pass to go every year now...I will have to think about that one.

Every time Michael leaves for a trip, something dramatic happens around the Ikerd house. Usually it is the horror of lice, but this time he must have put a different spell on us...it was the pin worm!! YUK!YUK!YUK! Nattalee was the lucky member this time, usually Ella is the special contestant. Now I have decided this is much better than Lice- because all that is required is a pill and constant laundry- very little from me. Nattalee on the other hand - has said all week that she would rather have lice any day over these nasty worms in her anus. We (Nattalee and I) did some research on the pin worm to figure out how she got this- what it does and how to get rid of it. They say the internet can be dangerous - well for an 8 yr old - it is! She read words like eggs, anus, long- well I don't need to say anymore- but as she read those words the worse the situation got. At about 7:30 the past couple of nights she turns into a mad woman- screaming and yelling - THEY ARE PINCHING ME!!!!GET THEM OUT!! NOW!!THEY ARE CRAWLING OUT MY ANUS HOLE!!! I know this sounds horrible- I try not to laugh- then of course I feel so sorry for her because she can not get relief until she passes out from exhaustion. Needless to say I am ready for Michael to come home - because of course the minute he comes home the curse is lifted.

I can't belive it has been a year.

Wow, time flies....We are coming up on a year from when Patsy was diagnosed with brain cancer. I never in my wildest dreams would think she would be gone from our lives so fast. Thinking back at this time last year- Michael was gone on his 1st hiking trip to Big Ben when I had to call him with the news about his mom. Here we are a year later..Michael leaves this weekend for Big Ben..I am hoping this time he is able to go and enjoy the beauty, relax and have a good time with his buddies. Remembering Patsy...ALWAYS!!

Ok guys listen up...everyone wants to know if I'm still addicted to blogging.....well my motto for 2008 is or matbe I jinxed myself and it was...MAKE IT SIMPLE! Well let me tell you there has ben nothing simple about 2008..so I stuggle with blogging espically when I can't even keep it within my Title!!

For reel dough! Things are great could not be better and I mean that....l am truly blessed...there are people out there who are struggling to make it each day!

I had to take out a small loan for up and coming sports events for the kiddos! Wyatt will play his usual baseball and Ella with try a little baseball herself. We will see how this all works out. Nattalee is taking a break from this season to become my personal trainer. She will be teaching me how to run and become more healthy...yes, my 7yr old will be teaching me this..prety sad huh! She has it all planned that we can run during their practices. Maybe since my daughter is doing this God will bless me with a wonderful weightloss...I would not want ther to think her hard work was for nothing!! RIGHT JESUS!! Well I will try to keep you guys posted on my weighloss program. Now- don't get to excited, check to frequently or hold your breath-
I would not want to upset you gals with by with the big numbers I'm gonna put out there!! and ya'll know how much I love to blog!! Could be a year before you get my results! On that note! I will say Goodbye!

10 months today! Matthew has been gone 10 months- it sounds crazy to hear myself say that.......I honestly could not comprehend or even imagine what this day would be like. When someone you love is gone from your life in an instant you can not comprehend a future without them. All you have ever known is your life with this person in it. Man--I miss him and it seems like yesterday that I talked to him last. I know each day I get closer to seeing him again. I look at his beautiful face and I know some people may see just another user...I look at him and I see the huge tree God has placed around him and all the fruit it is bearing from his life and what God is doing thru his death. Milestone dates like today are difficult, but I know tomorrow will be better!!

Addicted Blogger!

Ok!!! Everyone is giving me a hard time about my last blog....I said I was addicted to blogging...and I haven't blogged since. Well let me explain myself...I thought I needed to have pictures to blog but I have been informed that you do not have to have pictures for every blog. Not knowing this previously..I have been very disturbed that I lost my camera on our 1st family hunting trip. We had not had a chance to download our pictures from Christmas before we left on the trip....So I was so upset that we had lost Christmas...it was like Christmas 2007 did not exist...I nothing to show for it (pictures that is). Michael and I had been in the big dilemma to buy a new camera and wow they really are expensive if you want a good one. Last week the guy that let us go out to our lease found our camera!!! WOO HOO let me say that again WOO HOO!! Christmas 2007 did exist after all! and guess what..now I have pictures!!!!! So I was planning on spending my day off today catching up on the addicting blog thing..and guess what-Michael has all the cables that I need to download the pictures with him at work!!! It is always something!! All of that to say..be expecting pictures and blogging very soon..from the addicted blogger that doesn't ever blog!! HAHAHA

I love it- I have been thinking the past couple of days...

everything..you guys would be like praying for me non-stop!!

Hmmm- that might not be such a bad idea!!

Here is what I was really going to talk about.....I started a new bible study class last night called "Because of Jesus" let me just say THANK YOU GOD for your promises that saves us from this crazy, sinful place. It is because of Jesus that I (we) are free!!We talked last night about being a mother....I realized I have fallen way short...but knowing that God's grace is sufficient for me, even though I make mistake after mistake.

God just spoke to me last night in that Bible Study as if he were sitting across from me, speaking right to my face. It is those moments in life that humble us to Gods love, grace and mercy!!!!

Here we are...all five of us. I can't believe how fast the kiddos grow. I know before long Wyatt will be driving, Nattalee will be at Tannahill and Ella will be moving up the ranks.
Speaking of how fast the kids grow, when our kids get invited to friends houses they seem to eat them out of house and wallet. Michael and I have decided in the best interest of others we will need to send our children with grocery store gift cards so that they can rebuild their food supply after our children leave. Please do not be mistaken we do feed our kids!!!
We are so proud of our children and are truly blessed by them daily. Some days I have to search a little harder for that blessing, but it is all worth it!!!
